Who is Key Lime Construction?

Since 2017, we’ve been serving up an uncommon remodeling experience. We call back, we show up, we do follow through. In a world where the opposite is expected from construction workers, we are striving to have your remodel be a sweet experience, like dessert after a meal.

Meet the team

How it all started

In 2017, Caleb Hastings moved his family from Kansas to the warm and friendly state of Texas. Caleb and his wife Anna grew up in Iowa, and started remodeling their first home while newlyweds. After 18 years and over a dozen homes, they chose Austin as the place to finish raising their three kids. Caleb’s passion for teaching lead him to hire and train young people in remodeling, passing on his years of experience.

In the past several years, Caleb and his team have continued to learn and train the next generation of highly skilled experts. Key Lime Construction has a personable group of seasoned team leads and several excellent helpers to complete projects with precision. Their passion for quality and creative problem solving helps bring homeowner visions into reality.

Caleb

Caleb has been working on houses since age 12, helping his dad’s buddy build a house around the corner. Since marrying at age 20, Caleb and his wife, Anna, have remodeled every home they’ve owned—more than six in total—while also helping countless friends bring their own home projects to life. Since 2015, Caleb has run his own remodeling firm, first in Wichita Kansas and now, since 2017, here in Austin. Caleb loves learning Spanish, serving the nation alongside his church, and enjoying time with his wife and kids.

Shea

One of our leads, Shea, has been with Key Lime Construction for nearly five years! He started off as the uninitiated kid who could  hardly read a tape measure, but quickly learned what it took to help the company grow into what it is today, and Shea has garnered a deep understanding of the residential construction process. In his spare time, Shea enjoys cooling off in Lake Austin, thinking about life under great trees, or possibly even trying to learn how to skateboard … again.

Gabriel

Gabriel loves waking up and coming to work every day, saying it’s never a dull moment working with Key Lime Construction. Every day is a new task for him and he always is excited to get his hands right into it and try something new.

Stephanie

Stephanie serves as the office manager at Key Lime Construction, where she plays a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring every project is set up for success. She is happily married and the proud mother of three—a son and twin daughters—and she cherishes her role as a grandmother to her grandson.

Passionate about helping homeowners bring their remodeling visions to life, Stephanie thrives behind the scenes, supporting both clients and the team throughout each phase of the project. Her dedication to the industry extends beyond the office; she and her husband enjoy tackling remodeling projects of their own, from rebuilding stairs to adding a covered patio to their home.

Phillip

Phillip is a team lead specializing in residential remodeling and finish construction. He is known for his attention to detail, strong craftsmanship, and ability to help bring renovation projects from concept to completion. Phillip takes pride in delivering quality work that improves both the functionality and appearance of each home he works on while maintaining strong communication and reliability throughout the building process. Outside of work, Phillip enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and hiking. He values time with friends and staying active, which helps fuel his strong work ethic and appreciation for hands-on craftsmanship. His passion for building extends beyond the job site, reflecting his dedication to creating and maintaining things that last.

Blake

Originally from Maine, my wife and I moved to Austin to escape the cold and put down roots in Central Texas. I specialize in cedar siding and exterior construction, bringing a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in finish work to every project. I enjoy working with Southern-style designs and materials that are built to last in the Texas climate. Outside of work, I spend time trail running with my dog, watching classic films, and sharpening my short game—activities that reflect the patience, focus, and discipline I bring to my work.

Kerra

I’m Kerra, a pre-construction specialist at Key Lime Construction, where I combine my passion for interior design with a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to the early stages of each project. I enjoy helping clients bring their ideas to life and walking them through the process by creating clear, well-planned paths forward before construction begins. Outside of work, I’m a proud dog mom to three pups, love trying new food spots, and spend my downtime drawing, being outdoors, and discovering new music. I grew up partially deaf and am fluent in sign language, an experience that has shaped my communication style and given me a strong sense of empathy and awareness in both my personal and professional life.
